Building Home – Critical Spatial Practice and the creation of digital public infrastructure
Doctoral Research by Hannes Grassegger
In his PhD project, Grassegger pursues the research question of whether and how architectural theory can inform the design of digital public spaces. He is interested in questions of trust building; the demarcation between public and private space; co-ownership, as well as the design, construction, managenemnt and further development of public spaces. Digital public spaces, such as social networks, Sci-Hub or Wikipedia nowadays often suffer from a lack of democratic control or administrative efficiency. The goal of his research project is to conceptualize a self-managed ultra-local neighborhood news space in the form of a digital public AI.
