Claudia Nitsche

In September 2026, Claudia Nitsche joined the MARCH team as a postdoctoral researcher after completing her PhD at the Architectural Association in London in 2025.

Claudia Nitsche is an architect and postdoctoral research associate in the Master in Architecture programme at the University of Luxembourg. After graduating with distinction from the Master’s programme in Architecture at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart in 2015, she has worked as a research associate and lecturer in architectural history and theory at various institutions—including the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart, the Technical University of Darmstadt, and the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London, where she completed her PhD in History and Critical Thinking in 2025.

Her research investigates the intersections of architectural theory, political ecology, and environmental history. In particular, her work critically examines the spatial dimensions of ecological crises and environmental violence, as well as the political implications and narratives of landscape, territory, and materiality.
