OAI Prize

Melsida Babayan has been award the ‘thesis prize’ by the Luxembourgish Order of Architects and Consulting Engineers (OAI) for her Master thesis Disappearing Territory: Technological Urbanism as a Military Weapon, supervised by Dr. Marija Maric and Caroline Faber, which she defended with great success in June 2023. In her thesis she investigates the role of post-war reconstruction and construction of infrastructure military tools disguised as spatial architectural interventions in the case of Nagorno Karabakh. The OAI award will be handed over to her on during the Graduation Ceremony in December 2023. An excerpt of the research will be published as an article in the forthcoming issue of The Funambulist.
