How to avoid waste in construction? How to enhance reuse in architecture? 40 partners, public and private, have been actively collaborating under the lead of the University of Luxembourg for about 3 years to figure out on how to design and build in a way, which allows to transform, deconstruct, dis- and reassemble again. Based upon standardized dimensions and pre-fabricated construction elements, a pool of high-value materials and products create the future source of new developments in architecture and engineering. Petite Maison is not about creating a prototype following the scheme of standardized design-products. It rather investigates into recomposing new settings by combining existing construction elements which are robust, dismountable and sustainable. The attention is focused on concrete, steel and wood, which delivers most of the material volume in construction within the greater region.
